Hilltop Tigers Idle time is devil’s play. With your support, the Hilltop Tigers have molded young mens’ time, talent, and passion. Soccer has been a My Brother’s Keeper program like no other. Hilltop Tigers currently has 90 players on the team roster with 5 coaches managing the team. The program has age groups ranging from U9 to U16. Each age group has its own dedicated coach who focuses on the development and growth of the players. The engagement of our soccer coaches and players has been credited with turning the Wedgewood community around when it was labeled one of the deadliest neighborhoods in Columbus. When gangs and drugs are an option, it takes an organization that is not afraid to go toe to toe to be a champion for our youth. Hilltop Tigers soccer program has become an inspiration for other young coaches and players from different neighborhoods. The program created new excitement for the sport of soccer amongst the west side and neighboring communities. The number of new teams being formed continues to grow, so much so that My Project USA was able to bring those teams together to create a fun recreational soccer league for all youth to take part in. Last fall the league had 250+ kids who participated and this year we are expecting 500+ kids to take part in it. We count on your support and funding to be able to continue to provide quality, safe recreational soccer to youth on the west side of Columbus. Your funding helps with fuel for all transportation, food, practice equipment, and paid employment opportunities for coaches that come from the same neighborhoods we serve.
