Help Us Keep Our Unhoused Neighbors Warm and Well-Fed During the Polar Vortex! As you all know, MY Project USA has partnered with the Community Shelter Board to provide warm shelter and meals to 40 adults this winter. We've transformed the lower level of the Hilltop Youth Empowerment Center to accommodate beds for those in need at night. And as one of only four 24/7 warming centers in the area, our guests are also able to stay warm during the day in the MY Community Cafe eating area. With the upcoming polar vortex and predictions of a historically cold winter, it is more important than ever to make sure we are providing the services and care needed to ensure everyone survives the cold. We are working with a daily meal budget of just $10 per person, and while we are doing our best to provide 3 nutritious meals a day, we need YOUR help to make sure everyone gets the food and care they deserve. MY Project USA has expanded from 40 to now serving 230 individuals at various warming center locations daily. Here's how you can help us meet this need: ✨ Donate cooked food ✨ Help pack meals ✨ Give funds to have MY Community Cafe cater meals on your behalf ✨ Purchase non-perishable items to be packed into brunch bags Your generosity will make a real and immediate difference this winter! Together, we can ensure that no one in our community has to face hunger or the cold. Let’s come together to provide warmth, nourishment, and hope for all. 💙 |

After School Programs Making a Difference For Columbus Kids! Our after school programs are busy! On January 13th, the Binns After School Program with MY Project USA had a special visit from our favorite drum instructor, Chase Hurlow! For many of our students, it was their first time experiencing a recreational drum circle, where they learned essential musical skills, rhythms, and sounds. Beyond the music, the kids also practiced important Social Emotional Learning (SEL) skills like taking turns, respecting others, and listening with self-control. While one group participated in the drum circle, the other had the option to engage in social recreation games or spend time journaling and writing. Our after-school programs provide more than just academic support—they keep kids engaged in positive, productive activities, helping them stay focused and out of trouble. On the same day, the Starling Reach After School Program hosted an exciting academic day for our elementary students! After a quick snack, journaling, and bathroom break, the students dove into a multiplication math card tournament. The kids had a blast competing to answer the problems quickly, testing their times tables, and engaging in some friendly competition. It was a fun way to challenge their math skills while keeping them active and excited to learn! Our after-school programs are designed to make learning both fun and meaningful, helping students stay engaged and focused on their growth. We’re grateful for our continued partnership with Columbus City Schools for making this enriching experience possible for our kids! 🌟 |
