| | | MY Project USA Saves 10 Families from Being Evicted! Summer Programs Provide Free Safe Haven for Low Income Working Parents MY Project USA saved 10 low income families from being evicted due to lack of childcare options. Working parents were faced with an impossible situation where they would be evicted if their children were unsupervised during the day. With skyrocketing childcare costs, day care and regular summer camps are out of the question for many families. MY Project USA joined forces with Westhaven Apartments by Upholdings to protect and empower youth, and provide options to families. We enrolled 22 kids in our summer programs - 12 in MY Summer Expedition, 4 high school girls in Girls Empowerment and MY Leaders, and 6 kids in MY Reading Warriors. None of this would have been possible without YOUR support! Thank you for being a part of our village and enabling us to provide these services to families that need them the most. Join us at our Westhaven Family Cookout this Saturday, July 20th for more family fun and community building! |

| | MY Summer Expedition Art/Leadership Camp! Students Visit Nursing Home During Leadership Camp MY Summer Expedition wrapped Art/Leadership camp with fun crafts and a visit to the Lincoln Village Nursing Home! Students discussed good and bad example of leaders in history and qualities such as: humility, considering others, listening, encouraging, speaking up for those in need, and gratitude. Students practiced the quality of service as a leader at the nursing home. They read with elderly residents, played games, served them food, and spent time talking with them. This was meaningful as one elderly man shared that majority of the residents their do not get visits from friends or family, so having the students visit was such a joy. Students wrapped up with group reflection of their time serving at the nursing home. Read our weekly MY Summer Expedition newsletters for more! |
| | | | Summer Meal Funds Are Nearly Depleted $15,000 Needed To Continue Meals For The Rest Of The Summer MY Project USA provides 100 meals per day to students participating in our summer programs. For many students, these are the only healthy meals they eat. We know that food security is vital for protecting youth, because hungry kids are easy prey. At this point in time, we will only be able to provide meals for a few more days. Please help us continue providing these kids healthy, hot halal meals by donating to our summer meals program. Every dollar helps! |
